Stay in Sports Shape This Summer with Personal Training Assistance

By |2018-05-17T20:24:05+00:00May 17th, 2018|Sports Training|Comments Off on Stay in Sports Shape This Summer with Personal Training Assistance

While you may have summer off from high school sports or college sports, it doesn't mean you should slow down on your practice and training. If anything, it's the time to spend more time focusing on ways to improve your skills no matter what sport you play. While you can go to sports summer training camps this may not provide the exact skills training you need to improve agility, flexibility, stamina or strength. Instead, these sports summer training camps are more about learning the game and plays. However, by working with a personal trainer who has experience in your sport, you'll be able to advance those skills to enhance what you learn and practice during the regular season. Our personal training facility offers sports-specific personal training for sports like football, baseball, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, swimming, tennis and more. Each sport comes with a very specific set of challenges that you will need to overcome to reach your full potential and hit the team's goals for the season. We understand those challenges and create a sports-focused personal training program based on your current skill level and where you want to get to.  We train men and women of all ages and [...]

Get Into the Shape You Want For Your Summer Wedding

By |2018-05-07T20:36:49+00:00May 7th, 2018|Fitness|Comments Off on Get Into the Shape You Want For Your Summer Wedding

Getting married is exciting and you want to do everything to make it a great day. And, that includes looking and feeling great. Maybe your nuptials are coming up this summer and you want to feel. great in that wedding dress and be able to throw on that bikini for your beach getaway honeymoon. Don't think it's too late either! Because when you work with a personal trainer now, you'll be ready just in time for your summer wedding. Along with working with a personal trainer who can get you focused on the most results-oriented exercises and routines, you can also work on your fitness outside of meeting with your personal trainer. One of the most important steps to take is to reduce your sedentary lifestyle. If you sit for work and then at home and on the commute, it's not helping you get into shape for your summer wedding. Instead, you can get moving with regular walking as often as possible. Also, your personal trainer will give you assignments to do on those days you are not meeting. You may also want to consider doing online fitness consulting where your personal trainer can work with you no matter where [...]

Yes, You Can! Gain Inspiration From Your Personal Trainers

By |2018-05-02T18:30:32+00:00May 2nd, 2018|Personal Trainer|Comments Off on Yes, You Can! Gain Inspiration From Your Personal Trainers

Part of the benefits of working with a personal trainer is the ability to gain inspiration and motivation that can keep you going. After all, it's not going to be an easy journey to make no matter what your fitness goals are. There will be good days where you see positive changes and results. However, there will be low energy days when things don't go quite as well. Outside of the gym, you may also have other challenges with work and life that can creep in and take you away from your goals. However, if you have a personal trainer, they will make sure that this doesn't happen. That's because they are there to motivate and inspire you to greatness. As a personal trainer, it's one of the aspects of what I do that I enjoy the most. It's also helped me to understand people and their various challenges and goals. In return, this allows me to target my motivation and inspiration to each person I work with. The result of this motivation is that it holds each of my clients accountable to keep making their appointments and keep pushing. Otherwise, they might not have done those last few reps [...]

Why It’s Important to Have a Minimum of Three Personal Training Sessions a Week

By |2018-04-23T20:13:01+00:00April 23rd, 2018|Personal Training|Comments Off on Why It’s Important to Have a Minimum of Three Personal Training Sessions a Week

There are a number reasons why you should work out with a personal trainer at least three times per week. And, of course, on all other days, you should be coming to the gym, too, to work on the homework assignments personal trainers provide. However, if possible, it's good to work with the personal trainer as much as it fits your schedule and budget. Here's why Results Happen Faster The Amercian College of Sports Medicine recommends that a person who wants to lose weight and meet their fitness goals do 20- to 60-minute sessions three to five days per week at 55 to 90 percent of their maximum heart rate. Trainers know what types of exercises and repetitions will achieve these metrics. Additionally, by not giving your body much time to rest and knowing how to rotate the parts of the body that get worked, a personal trainer can help you get results at a much faster rate. The more you work with them, the faster those results will come. Learn How to Do it the Right Way Especially when you are starting out, it may take time to learn how to use equipment properly so you don't injure yourself and [...]

Reasons to Add a Personal Trainer to Your Fitness Routine

By |2018-04-16T22:24:03+00:00April 16th, 2018|Personal Training|Comments Off on Reasons to Add a Personal Trainer to Your Fitness Routine

You know that personal trainers are helpful but you may have decided to continue at the gym on your own. However, if you are looking to achieve some very specific results, here are the reasons why you should add a personal trainer to your fitness routine. Lose Weight Above all else, most of our personal training clients come to us because they want to lose weight. Either they don't know where to start or they are not sure how much they should do. We have even had some of our gym members sign up for personal training because they are frustrated and not seeing results of weight loss doing it on their own. With a personal trainer, you can focus in on the type of weight training and cardio you need that works for your body type, capabilities, age, and any other factors. Plus, we can discuss diet and suggest some nutritional strategies that you might not have tried going it alone. Improve Cardiovascular Health When we work alone or just with a gym buddy we might not push ourselves as hard as we really could go. Or, talking causes us to take the elliptical or Stairmaster a little slower than we [...]

Why Baseball Personal Training Works So Well

By |2018-04-13T23:25:46+00:00April 13th, 2018|Baseball Skills Training|Comments Off on Why Baseball Personal Training Works So Well

Baseball is one of this country's greatest sports passions. While some may look at it as something that involves pitching, hitting, and running, those in the sport realize there are so many more things a baseball player must do to reach their true potential. Everything must be precise. There is a need for speed, agility, and strength. That's why baseball personal training should be added to a high school baseball player or college baseball player's strategy. They need to do more than go to practices and hit up the gym. In order to truly develop the skills necessary for baseball, a personal trainer can get you there. For example, in order to develop the explosive speed that is necessary, a personal trainer can provide various plyometric exercises that base runners and defensive players can use. These types of exercises can also help boost cardiovascular endurance more so than just going to practice or jumping on a treadmill. Baseball players can also benefit from core strength, which will help to improve swinging a bat. To do so requires a lot of stability and core strength that involves the obliques. For a pitcher, that core strength is also necessary. They need to [...]

Personal Training: Low Reps Versus High Reps

By |2018-04-09T21:14:25+00:00April 9th, 2018|Fitness Trainer|Comments Off on Personal Training: Low Reps Versus High Reps

When it comes to working out at the gym, it's hard to know what the best routine is for you and your personal fitness goals. That's why a personal trainer can become such a key part of your fitness success. After training with so many different people with a range of goals plus studying the science of fitness, personal trainers know how much weight you should be doing and the impact of both high reps and low reps on your goals. Here are our thoughts on the benefits of high reps and low reps as well as when you should do each. Why Do High Reps High reps build a bigger muscle. If that's your goal, you'll want to do that with your sets. The more reps you do, the more tension you put on the muscle, which stimulates muscle growth and increases strength. However, over time, you won't be able to handle as much weight intensity.     The Case For Low Reps The low-rep zone is considered no more than five reps in each set. This means typically much higher weights are used. This changes your body composition, adding more definition. The Perfect Combination of Reps It makes sense [...]

Personal Training: Why Incorporate It Into Your Regular Workout Routine

By |2018-03-31T16:14:29+00:00March 31st, 2018|Fitness Trainer|Comments Off on Personal Training: Why Incorporate It Into Your Regular Workout Routine

You may work out consistently and come to the gym or take our great classes, such as yoga or boot camp. However, it may feel like the changes are not coming as fast or in the ways you would like it to. That is the primary reason I recommend that, no matter what fitness level you are at, you can benefit from adding personal training into your regular workout routine. In doing personal training for years and working with all types of people, I see human nature kick in regardless of the goals. We don't often push ourselves as much as we could or should. Or, we go like crazy and hurt ourselves. Finding that middle ground is where a personal trainer comes in. They push you but not to the point where you hurt yourself. Even the most confident gym goer may also stay away from certain equipment or new tools that we bring into the gym based on new findings.  It's understandable when you see things like massive tires, TRX, medicine balls and bands. Just the thought of trying to figure out how to use them or learn them from a YouTube video, and you most likely will [...]

Get Beach Ready for Summer with Personal Training and Fitness Classes

By |2018-03-18T21:33:08+00:00March 18th, 2018|Fitness|Comments Off on Get Beach Ready for Summer with Personal Training and Fitness Classes

The weather may finally be changing now that spring is nearly here. More sunshine means fewer clothes, which means you may want to start on that plan to feel confident in those fewer clothes for the spring and summer seasons. Here are some suggestions for how to approach your weight loss or toning goals for this summer. Plan and Schedule Since there is a timeline involved, you can work backwards by planning what you will do each week toward your fitness goals to reach that by summer. You can set individual goals for each week related to how you will achieve that weight loss. A journal is a great way to do that as are the numerous fitness apps now available so you can track what you eat and your physical activity. To guide the planning process, it helps to work with a personal trainer who can give you realistic guidelines about how much you can achieve each week toward that goal and provide the program to achieve it. This includes exercise and diet. Make Small Changes The worst approach I see is when people try to make drastic changes and go with what they see as quick fixes. That [...]

Fitness Training for Competitive Cheerleading

Cheerleaders Team Every sport requires training to improve performance. However, fitness training is also important because it helps strengthen the body to help prevent injuries as well as enable the body to do more than you ever thought possible. While you can see that for sports like football, baseball, basketball, and others, you may not immediately think of competitive cheerleading. Have you ever seen what competitive cheerleaders actually do? If you did, you would immediately understand the value of undertaking fitness training program that helps give them the core body strength, balance, flexibility, and endurance they need to do all those incredible moves, jumps, and flips. Here, at Georgia Personal Training, we have designed a specific fitness training program for competitive cheerleaders. The program is geared to improving each participant's physical fitness level. By developing greater core body strength, a cheer leader can perform better at doing those lifts, dance moves, and gymnastics that is such a large part of competitive cheer. Brandi Lein is one of our lead fitness trainers. She is a certified personal trainer who works with the girls and boy participating in competitive cheering. During her high school years, Brandi participated in competitive cheerleading and was part of her high [...]
