A List of Benefits from Personal Training

By |2018-02-14T23:04:44+00:00February 14th, 2018|Uncategorized|Comments Off on A List of Benefits from Personal Training

We get asked a lot about why a personal trainer is better than just working out on your own. The more Brandi and I have thought about, the longer our list gets, especially when our list of success stories keeps growing. 1. Educational Personal trainers undergo extensive training and instruction. That means they are well-versed in exercise, nutrition, fitness, and lifestyle changes. Their education is then applied to your training to ensure you can meet your goals and undertake exercise that has been researched and studied. Plus, the extensive training means your personal trainer has the knowledge to help you more than anyone who has not studied fitness and health. 2. Form On your own, you may not be lifting correctly or performing exercises with the best form. You could either not be meeting your goals or, worse, hurting yourself without someone trained to understand what posture to use and how far to extend your arms or legs during a certain exercise.  3. Unique Requirements   Not everyone is the same. Your age, past injuries, and health issues are all unique. These must be considered when exercising. That's why a personal trainer can make the difference. They have been trained [...]

Using Athletic Personal Training to Achieve Performance

By |2018-01-17T15:36:45+00:00January 17th, 2018|Sports Agility Training|Comments Off on Using Athletic Personal Training to Achieve Performance

Just building muscle and strength is not beneficial if it doesn't apply directly to the movements of your sport. For example, let's take baseball. If your training doesn't incorporate some movements that simulate swinging or throwing mechanics, then you need to re-evaluate what you are doing and who you are training with. That's because they are not helping you by ignoring some of the most important aspects of training for baseball that will improve how you play the sport. It's one of the main reasons we started to incorporate athletic personal training at our gym and personal training facility. Many of us played sports in high school and college. That's why we know what works and what doesn't when it comes to training for sports like baseball, football, basketball, lacrosse, and others. We knew that this experience could be valuable in helping our local high school and college athletes improve their performance while reducing the likelihood of injuries. Besides specific types of training, we also incorporate various machines and equipment that are designed to address the unique movements found in each sport. One of these pieces of equipment is the Hammer Strength Ground Base Jammer. It's an ideal piece of equipment for [...]

Why Work On Different Body Parts on Different Days

By |2017-12-18T23:37:30+00:00December 18th, 2017|Fitness|Comments Off on Why Work On Different Body Parts on Different Days

If you don't train your muscles and make them work, you will essentially lose them. In their place will be fat. You'll lose strength, flexibility, coordination and many other benefits that muscles provide. To get the most out of your exercise routine, we recommend that you regularly work out various parts of your body during different routines. This is instead of working all parts at one time. Here's why   When you do strength training, it leads to these tiny tears in your muscle fibers. Those torn areas make room for new muscle tissue to grow. However, unlike a science fiction movie, it actually takes some time for your body to grow this new muscle tissue. That's the first reason why you shouldn't work the same muscles two days in a row. Switching off muscle groups allows the new muscle to grow in that area while you repeat the process in another area. Giving your muscles at least 24 hours of rest helps. However, if you are really sore, you may want to wait another day to give them more recovery time. One approach is to do an upper-body and lower-body split into your workout routine. The upper body includes doing [...]

How Your Body Reacts When You Add Personal Training

By |2017-12-11T18:20:14+00:00December 11th, 2017|Personal Training|Comments Off on How Your Body Reacts When You Add Personal Training

Often, when working out on your own, you end up hitting a plateau. Suddenly, the weight is not shifting and you are not making any discernable muscle gains. It can be frustrating.  However, when you work with a personal trainer, you end up starting to see greater results because we know how to get you beyond those plateaus and back to real progress. Your body starts to react again because a personal trainer knows when to switch it up and make changes in the fitness routine that you may not have realized. On our own, we often have a tendency to stay with the same weight or number of repetitions because we don't often push ourselves like a personal trainer can. Also, every person is different so the results and how your body reacts to any fitness changes.  Also, you may hesitate to try strength training with weights on your own because you are not sure what to do. However, a personal trainer can safely guide you through these types of workouts where your body will start to react by building muscle to help support the weight and repetitions you'll start doing. The results and changes to your body will [...]

Personal Training Helps with Recovery After an Injury

By |2017-11-25T19:26:07+00:00November 25th, 2017|Fitness Trainer|Comments Off on Personal Training Helps with Recovery After an Injury

Getting injured playing sports or in a car accident or any other unexpected situation can be a real setback for your fitness routine. Surgeries and the need for additional time to heal the body can be challenging. It takes patience. When your doctor gives you the all-clear to go back to physical activity the first person you should contact is a personal trainer. Here's why. You may not really know just how much you can actually do. And, the last thing you want to do is reinjure yourself or cause new problems that will put your fitness goals even farther out of reach. However, a personal trainer understands the human body and what it is capable of doing. Many personal trainers have studied and continue to study the human body and what it is capable of doing. They can also suggest specific exercises that promote your recovery. Many types of exercise involve movements that stretch and encourage muscle recovery and growth. This can also reduce any stiffness or other issues you might have been experiencing while resting and not moving. That's why they can suggest exercises, weight amounts, and repetitions that will help you build strength, regain flexibility, and grow [...]

Happy Thanksgiving!

By |2020-01-21T12:46:03+00:00November 20th, 2017|Thanksgiving|Comments Off on Happy Thanksgiving!

From all of us here at Anytime Fitness, we want to wish all of our customers and their families a very Happy Thanksgiving! It's a special time where we also look forward to celebrating with our family and extended family. Gratitude We also reflect on the gratitude we have for those who trust us with their fitness goals and workout regimens. It's a blessing to have so many great customers who we have watched meet their goals and set new ones as major success stories. Plating for the Eating Holiday During this time of year, it is important to enjoy Thanksgiving and not stress out over what is commonly known as the "eating holiday." Let yourself enjoy the food and company rather than feeling guilty or stopping yourself from even touching the mashed potatoes or other goodies on the table. It's about being sensible and portion control rather than depriving yourself. I've talked to many clients about their plan for the holidays, which also helps to stay on track and be realistic about what you should do during Thanksgiving and the upcoming holidays. No Holidays from Personal Training In-between the football, fun, and maybe even shopping excursions on Black Friday [...]

5 Reasons to Incorporate Personal Training in Your Normal Workout Routine

By |2017-11-12T21:18:11+00:00November 12th, 2017|Personal Training|Comments Off on 5 Reasons to Incorporate Personal Training in Your Normal Workout Routine

It's great that you may already have a normal workout routine. It shows you take your fitness seriously and are incorporating it as part of your lifestyle. However, there are many reasons why you should insert personal training into this workout routine. Here are five reasons to consider: 1. You Hit a Plateau At some point in your workouts, you are going to notice that the results have slowed down. You can't shift the weight or see any changes. That means you've hit a plateau. This where you could really use a personal trainer. They know how to break you out of that cycle and start you at the next level so you'll be back to experiencing results again. 2. You Aren't Sure How to Use Some Equipment We regularly add new equipment and workout tools at our gym. You may see these and wonder what they do but are not sure how they work. That's where it helps to call in a personal trainer who can show you the right way to use them and suggest the number of reps you should be doing. A personal trainer can also suggest if it's even for you or maybe there is [...]

Make a Difference Day with Fitness

By |2017-10-27T23:36:55+00:00October 27th, 2017|Fitness|Comments Off on Make a Difference Day with Fitness

We are always looking to help others as owners of a gym and personal training facility. However, once a year, a special day comes along known as Make a Difference Day. This is when we really focus on the idea that we want to help those in our community make noticeable improvements in themselves and their outlook. You can, too. Here are some ideas to consider: Bring a Friend to the Gym Bring someone with you who you know has been struggling with their fitness goals. We'll give them a free pass to join you so they can see just how good it feels to work out. We also do gift certificates so think about gifting them with a month of membership and personal training session so they can see what's involved. Be a Fitness Buddy On those days when your friends are not training with us, be that person that encourages them to get there to do their homework that we've assigned them. Having a fitness buddy motivates them to get to the gym plus it helps you to stick with your goals. From this partnership comes two success stories rather than just one! Do a Breast Cancer Awareness 5K [...]
