Georgia Personal Training Special Offers Give The Gift Of Fitness To Someone You Love One of the best gifts you can give is one that shows how much you care about someone else’s health and well-being. And, even when you are in the mood to gift yourself with something, start with a gift that focuses on your health, too. To gift health, a gym membership is one place to start. However, that leaves you or the recipient on their own to figure out how to optimize their fitness goals. A better gift is personal training, which provides a way to work with a professional who can customize a personalized workout plan for you or your recipient. Your health and that of others are priceless and worth much more than any gadget or other items you can buy in a store. Getting into shape is worth its weight in gold, adding years to your life and reducing the cost of healthcare and risk for disease or other medical conditions caused by not prioritizing your health. At our Roswell personal training center, we have gift certificates that you can use toward personal training. And, if you are new to our gym, you [...]

Yes, You Can! Gain Inspiration From Your Personal Trainers

By |2018-05-02T18:30:32+00:00May 2nd, 2018|Personal Trainer|Comments Off on Yes, You Can! Gain Inspiration From Your Personal Trainers

Part of the benefits of working with a personal trainer is the ability to gain inspiration and motivation that can keep you going. After all, it's not going to be an easy journey to make no matter what your fitness goals are. There will be good days where you see positive changes and results. However, there will be low energy days when things don't go quite as well. Outside of the gym, you may also have other challenges with work and life that can creep in and take you away from your goals. However, if you have a personal trainer, they will make sure that this doesn't happen. That's because they are there to motivate and inspire you to greatness. As a personal trainer, it's one of the aspects of what I do that I enjoy the most. It's also helped me to understand people and their various challenges and goals. In return, this allows me to target my motivation and inspiration to each person I work with. The result of this motivation is that it holds each of my clients accountable to keep making their appointments and keep pushing. Otherwise, they might not have done those last few reps [...]

Matt Lein Introduces Two Training Warriors

These are two of my good friends.  Adrian (left) is only in his early 40s and was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease several years ago. He trains his butt off with me 3-4 days a week to slow the progression of the disease and alleviate the symptoms. He is a fighter! Nael (right) is still a rookie, but he's quickly become one of my favorite people. Like me, he wasn't blessed with the genetics of Thor. But he's got a heart the size of Texas, and he gives me everything he has every single time we train.  He asked me today when we took this picture, "you sure you want a fat guy in your training picture?" I said, "are you kidding me? Get in here!" When I look at these two guys I don't see a sick guy and a short, chubby guy. I see warriors. Make the Decision Personal Training is a very personal thing.  You have to be ready. You have to be dedicated. You have to be ready to make the decision to be a stronger, healthier you, AND, find the right trainer for you.  At Georgia Personal Training we customize each individual's training program to fit them. Why You Should Add Personal Training to Your Fitness Program

By |2016-11-07T17:33:42+00:00November 7th, 2016|Personal Trainer, Personal Training|Comments Off on Why You Should Add Personal Training to Your Fitness Program

Maybe you are at a point in your fitness program where you have reached some of your weight loss goals and fitness objectives. However, you have hit a plateau and are not sure what to do next. This is where a personal trainer comes in. So many people believe that personal trainers are just there for people who are new to exercise or haven’t done it in a long time. But, in reality, a lot of personal trainers work with those that may already appear in shape. Here’s the difference they provide someone who may already have a fitness program: You may not be working out as hard or as smart as you think you are so a personal trainer can identify those things you are doing that need improvement or where you can start adding more weight or reps to your routine. You might be playing a specific sport in school and need to sharpen certain skills but are not sure how or where to start improving those areas. A personal trainer that understands the skills necessary for each type of sport can design a sports-based personal training program. You get support that can provide a way to keep [...]

Choosing a Personal Trainer

By |2016-10-03T20:57:03+00:00October 3rd, 2016|Personal Trainer, Personal Training|Comments Off on Choosing a Personal Trainer

When you decide to get professional assistance with your fitness goals, it’s time to seek out a personal trainer. However, you don’t necessarily want to take the first one you come across when walking into a gym. Instead, consider these factors when choosing a personal trainer: Credentials: Make sure they can show you that they are certified as a personal trainer through an organization like The American Council on Exercise (ACE), the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), or the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). This shows that they have met a certain level of knowledge, competence, skill, and professionalism to serve you well. Experience: Find out how long they have been working as a personal trainer. While everyone has to start somewhere and it’s not necessarily a bad thing to start out with someone new, make sure that’s what you are comfortable with. The newest trainers tend to not charge as much as those well-seasoned trainers so this might be one way to make it fit your budget. Personality: It’s good to find someone who makes you feel comfortable and often this has to do with their personality. Ask yourself if you want someone who is a cheerleader, [...]

Working with a Personal Trainer Keeps You Motivated and Energized

Taking that personal fitness journey can be challenging and often discouraging when you go it alone. You may not be able to always find a workout pal to keep you going either. However, a personal trainer becomes your motivator, coach, confidante, mentor and more. They get you to your goals and keep you focused on that journey plus they can make it more fun along the way. Here are some statistics from the American Council on Exercise (ACE) that illustrate just how well personal trainers work to help you achieve your fitness goals: McClaran (2003) found that weekly sessions with a personal trainer significantly increased a client’s ability to move upward through the stages of change, vastly improving their physical activity. Mazzetti et al. (2000) found that training loads, peak power output, and fat-free mass were all increased among supervised (personally trained) participants compared to those who exercised alone. Researchers at Adelphi University compared in-home and at-the-gym personal training, finding that both were effective in terms of weight loss, cardiovascular function, adherence and motivation, with little differences between the two (Sykes et al., 2007). Hamilton et al. (2008) found that there are “numerous benefits to working with a qualified personal [...]

Cosmetic Training vs Functional Training

Which category do you fall in?  Which style is better? First let me say that anyone who has the discipline to train gets our respect. Regardless of why you train, we believe that fitness training will improve your quality of life. We also believe that fitness training can and likely will improve your overall health and reduce your risk of injury or illness. It is our belief that those who choose to train are likely headed down the path that leads to an overall better life experience. All that said, lets delve into the the questions this article attempts to explore. Again, please keep in mind the article is not attempting to be judgemental, it is simply written in an effort to stir thinking, discussion and hopefully to sway your thinking as to the reasons you should train. What are you really trying to accomplish when you train? Is your goal to look good at the beach or perhaps you just want to potentially be more attractive to the opposite sex? Is your dream to be a famous body builder or figure model? Do you judge your progress by how defined your abs are, or by the size of your biceps and [...]

Mother’s Day Gift Idea

Personal Training For Mom Trying to figure out a perfect gift to give your Mom for Mother's Day? Here is a great idea for you to consider. How about getting your Mom her very own personal trainer. Think about this. Moms are always doing things for everyone else in the family. They are selfless people who literally never slow down. Mom's are so busy working to please all of us, they rarely take time to do anything for themselves. I know the women in my life are just incredible! They work so hard to take care of all of us. They are the glue that holds everything together. This year, do something truly awesome for your Mom. Something she is totally not expecting. Give her the gift of a great personal trainer. For a Mom to do her job as super women, she has to stay healthy and fit. These incredible women are the center of every family universe. It's up to us to do something for them for a change. We talk with lots of women who stop by the gym. They all come in, excited about working out, then they proceed to talk themselves out of it because they [...]
