Brandi Lein is one of the most gracious and kind people you will ever meet. As her training clients and gym members have come to know, she is truly an incredible person. Matt and Brandi Lein are the owners of Anytime Fitness of Roswell and Georgia Personal Training. They are a dynamic couple and together have helped hundreds of men, women and young adults, on their fitness journey.

Brandi practices what see preaches when it comes to living a healthy, fit lifestyle. She and Matt involve their entire family in the process, including their young son, Payton, and daughter Madison. They have operated the Georgia Personal Training Center and Anytime 24 Hour Fitness Center for 11 years now. Both treasure the fact that their jobs allow the to work in an industry that fits perfectly with their passion for fitness and living a healthy lifestyle. Brandi and Matt both will tell you that their greatest joy though comes from seeing clients meet and achieve their fitness and life goals. Most people would agree that a huge beer belly, flabby arms, and a double chin are not characteristics of their ideal physique.  Which is why over 50% of Americans are actively trying to lose weight according to the CDC.  Getting rid of stubborn body fat is essential for sculpting your best physique.  However, fat reduction is an entirely different undertaking than hypertrophic weight training.  While muscle can be selectively added to specific areas of the body, you cannot pick and choose which areas to burn fat from.  Targeted fat loss, also known as “spot reduction” is a type of exercise that many people turn to when trying to slim down specific areas of their bodies.  Unfortunately, spot reduction is actually a myth that was debunked decades ago.

There is actually no such thing as spot reduction.  Doing crunches and side bends will not burn body fat from your stomach and love handles.  Doing triceps extensions will not burn the annoying fat under your arms.  The reason for this is the way the body breaks down stored fat for energy.  Before they can be burned, fat cells must be broken down into smaller sections called free fatty acids and glycerol, which are able to enter the bloodstream.  During exercise, the free fatty acids and glycerol used as fuel are pulled from all over the body, not specifically from the area being exercised.  Therefore there is no way to isolate fat burning to a specific problem area.  Think of body fat reduction as peeling the layers of an onion.  Continue peeling the entire onion, layer by layer, until you reach the desired result.  You can accomplish this by utilizing an all encompassing strategy of strength training, metabolic conditioning, and diet.  For specific details about the GPT approach to fat loss check out our weight loss/fat reduction page.  To learn more about physique sculpting, hypertrophic weight training, and how GPT can help you build the body you’ve always wanted, contact us today and schedule your free consultation.
