If you are considering personal training with us, here’s how we plan to keep you motivated and on track with your fitness goals:

Focus on the process.

We realize it can be discouraging when clients just focus on the scale, so we take a different approach to keep them motivated. Each workout is about what that session does toward the overall goal and how far a client has come in terms of each exercise we give them.

Personalize each session.

As an athlete, I quickly learned that one approach to practice and working out doesn’t work for the entire team. Each person has to be taken as an individual, including their strengths and weaknesses. By doing so, you can create a plan that works for each client, helping them feel like they can accomplish the workout and then get the results to keep them motivated.

Keep it interesting by adding new exercises.

It’s good to mix things up. My clients never know what I’m going to throw at them. That surprise and new things to learn keeps it fresh and helps them stay motivated.

Put in on paper.

I write everything down, including each client’s goals, each workout, and each set of results. I share this with each client and we make changes and look at the outcomes together. This level of accountability is motivating and also helps each client see what they are doing and why.

Involve the client.

Most clients want to be somewhat involved in the personal training process because it is their goals and results. We always do review sessions and talk about how each session went, what should change, and why. This is personal training after all so it has to be about them for them to feel motivated and engaged.

Add technology.

Technology is amazing with apps and wearables, so we now incorporate that and look at the data from those devices. It’s a way to clearly see the advancement and reason to keep going.
