Now that we have discussed your goals and set your expectations, it’s time to get out on the floor and do a workout.  At Georgia Personal Training we take a very scientific and strategic approach to our initial training sessions.

Let me tell you briefly how personal trainers typically sell their services.  You take the client through the hardest possible workout you can put together, make them do routines way beyond their current fitness level, beat them till they either puke or have difficulty walking, then you take them back in the office and apply the sales pressure.  The idea is to convince the client that they are in dire physical condition, and must hire you immediately in order to salvage what’s left of their lives.

iStock_000013732715LargeLike many other aspects of our company, we do our initial training sessions much differently than the competition.  We want the session to be challenging, but for a different purpose entirely.  Our goal is not to discourage you into buying training, but to inspire you into buying training.  The goal is to show you what is possible; to give you an insight into what you could become after a year of working out at GPT.  We want our new clients to be excited and energized about starting their program, because they now have a clear vision of what these sessions will do for them.

The Initial Training Session Has 3 Main Goals

  1. Let the client experience exactly what their training sessions will be like.
  2. Assess the client’s current fitness level, strengths and weaknesses, and physical limitations.
  3. Let the client see the difference between an elite workout run by a GPT professional, and the workouts they have done on their own in the past.
After meeting these three objectives a client can then make an informed buying decision, and the trainer can then explain in detail how GPT will help them reach their fitness goals.

    Functional Cross Training – Boot Camps

    Functional Cross Training, Boot CampsAt GPT we offer functional cross training courses at least three days per week. Classes are currently running Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7 pm and Saturday morning at 10 am. Classes are one hour of intense cross training, cardiovascular training and core work. We usually have from 10 – 12 people of all different fitness levels in our classes. Owner Brandi Lein is the director and head instructor of the cross training / boot camp program.       Wofford Baseball 5Matt has been training since the age of 13 years old. He grew up here in Roswell, Georgia. His high school freshman year, Matt played baseball for Roswell High. The family moved north to Alpharetta and Matt attended and played baseball for Milton High School, until he graduated. In 2001, Matt was awarded a college baseball scholarship to play at Wofford College. He had a tremendous freshman year at Wofford and was voted Southern Conference Freshman of the Year by the coaches in the Southern Conference. In addition to being the SOCON Freshman of the Year, Matt was also selected for the Collegiate All-American team, as the best third baseman in the country.

    Yoga Class Information

    YogaWe offer Yoga class twice each week. The class is Free for current members of our fitness center. Classes meet on  Tuesday night a 7 pm and again on Thursday night at 7 pm. Each class lasts approximately 1 hour. Our instructor is one of the best in the area. She has been teaching for many years and our Yoga students all rave about her. Practicing Yoga is a great way to increase your flexibility. It is also a great way to increase overall core body strength, while at the same time helping to prevent injuries.

    Boxing & MMA – Individual Personal Training Sessions

    Boxing & MMA

    Boxing & MMA, are handled as individual personal training sessions. Our lead trainer, Matt Lein, designs and delivers specialized strength, agility and conditioning workouts for people of all ages and ability levels. He also works with martial arts amateur competitors and up and coming young boxers.

    These conditioning and training sessions are intense. Clients are encouraged to come prepared to work. Sessions generally last between 30 minutes to 1 hour in duration, depending upon the fitness level of the student. The training is designed to improve balance, eye hand coordination, fitness levels, agility and competitive spirit. Matt is great about tailoring these sessions around the unique strengths and challenges of each individual client.

    These workouts are designed to be ultra productive, with a focus on ensuring the client is having fun and gaining confidence from the sessions.     Zumba Class

    Zumba Dance ClassAt Georgia Personal Training we offer Zumba class, twice each week. Classes are currently running on Monday and Wednesday nights at 7 pm. Classes are one hour of intense dance fitness training. Zumba is great for weight loss and the perfect cardiovascular activity for great for training your core body strength. We dance and we dance and we dance so more, so come prepared for great music, laughing and an all around good time.
